Since DanceAspen’s first performances at the Wheeler Opera House in September 2021, the partnership between DanceAspen and the Wheeler has shown how the arts can revitalize a community. As a historic venue, the Wheeler is not the traditional dance space, with a stage that is just shy of 28 feet wide and a stage depth of just over 26 feet. With ingenuity, creativity, and perseverance, DanceAspen brings choreography to the edge of dance, quite literally to the edges of the Wheeler’s historic stage. By bringing together the best of the past and the present, the Wheeler is excited to be a part of DanceAspen creating a new and exciting future for dance in Aspen.
