Aspen Rocks is our local "American Idol" style music competition. The competition will feature six student musician finalists who will compete live at the Wheeler Opera House for a chance to win recording time with a professional engineer at the legendary Mad Dog Ranch+Studios. The evening will be hosted by local musicians Randy Brown, and Dylan Starrs and the performances will be judged by local musicians Josefina Mendez, Gonzales, and Louis B Middleton.

Josefina started studying music and training her voice in her home town of Buenos Aires Argentina. Even though her voice lessons were Italian Opera, her passion and practice was jazz. At the age of 18 she was the youngest person to perform with the Argentine National Jazz Orchestra. The music performed by Josefina combines rhythms, melodies, and different performance traditions that surpass the boundaries between language and culture.

Gonzales is the lead singer for Peach Street Revival, a 4-piece band from Grand Junction, Colorado. She has recorded four studio albums and gained her vocal chops singing for recording sessions and in gospel choirs while in Los Angeles, CA. Gonzales has graced the stages of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Austin SXSW, and live music venues on the Sunset Strip.
Louis is the modern day piano man. He is quickly becoming known as the elevated musical performance to see with his one- of-a-kind selection of inspired cover songs. He is also a songwriter and the acting music director for the soon to be opened Dante in Beverly Hills, California.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Inspire Aspen Foundation and go towards giving unique opportunities to student musicians in the Aspen Snowmass Roaring Fork Valley to pursue their talents and musical journeys.
